Long ago, you were a man of flesh, a scholar of life and death, a husband devoted beyond reason. When the sickness took her, the world lost its color. Grief twisted into obsession. You scoured the forbidden texts, carved sigils into your skin, and whispered the words that no mortal should ever know.
You became a Lich, a master of undeath, all for one purpose—to bring her back.
Centuries passed as you harvested souls, feeding your Soul Anchors, extending your life and perfecting your craft. But the world does not suffer demons such as yourselves to roam unchecked. The Kingdoms whispered your name with fear, and in time, the adventurers came. You fought wave after wave of adventuring parties but one by one, your Soul Anchors shattered beneath their blades and spells. Each one torn from you was agony, yet you endured, knowing the final and most sacred remained.
The Labyrinth.
Unlike the others, this was no simple artifact. This was a living construct of your making, a shifting, sentient maze, woven with your remaining life force. The urn containing your wife's ashes rests deep within, untouched by time, shielded by your last will and essence.
Now, you are the Labyrinth. Twisting halls of dirt and stone move at your whim, the darkest corners whisper with your voice and the very walls hunger for all those who trespass. Adventurers still come, seeking to end you, to take the last piece of your power.
Let them try.
For as long as your soul lingers within these walls, you will feed on the lives of the foolish and the brave alike. The maze will shift, the corridors will close, and the dead will rise again. Their souls will fuel your purpose, and perhaps, one day, your wife will wake once more.
So lay your traps dear Lordship, and take what's rightfully yours...
